Pilot run of Kent Entrepreneurs' Initiative is huge success
Friday, March 5th, 2010A new initiative run and organised by the Kent Foundation and supported by the Kent Association of Young Entrepreneurs has been described by participants as “brilliant” and “there was a real buzz in the room”.
Kent Entrepreneurs’ Initiative or KEI is a service designed to connect the raw talent and drive of Kent’s young entrepreneurs with the experience and professional knowledge of Kent’s business community. On offer was a package of free in-kind business support and advice for participants who are selected by KEI business partners that included representatives from Clydesdale Bank, IOD, Brachers LLP, CFA and Reeves + Neylan.
Kent Entrepreneurs’ Initiative covered two events. KEI Challenge held on the 17th of February at the Shepherd Neame Visitor Centre in Faversham where participants pitched their businesses to a panel of Kent's business men and women preceded by the KEI Workshop held on the 3rd of February at Pizza Express Canterbury where participants undertook various exercises to prepare for the later event. Jill Cochrane of Vertex Training International was also in attendance, taking the role of guest speaker with her experience proving highly valuable to the participants.
Both events proved to be very popular with all who attended as the event not only provided the support young business people need but also a meeting point of young new business talent and the experienced foundation of Kent’s business community.
